SGSS is an engineering services company that operates as a wholly owned subsidiary under Parsons Corporation. We provide our customers with practical, state-of-the-art solutions for complex satellite communications, command, control, and intelligence systems. We currently provide software engineering development to the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). This includes critical elements of spacecraft design, integration and testing, software and device driver development, and maintenance of the ground station. This is accomplished utilizing reliable remote tracking system control software; mission unique software; data reduction and analysis with satellite specific command and control (C2) software for naval field units. As of April 2024, the C2 software suite is used to control more than 100 National Security Space (NSS) satellites, as well as provide control and status of the ground system equipment.

SGSS also provides software engineering to maintain and grow US government capabilities in space- and multi-domain mission and flight planning; orbital dynamics including maneuver planning; and an array of modeling, simulation, integration and test capabilities. We continue to grow in the areas of software-defined RF processing, cybersecurity, compliance, and IT services enabling delivery of complete ground segment capabilities for NRL partners seeking rapid-turn research and development enabling on-orbit innovation.

SGSS has two offices, one in Alexandria, VA and the second in West Melbourne, FL. We also support on-site work at the NRL Campus in Washington, DC and at the Blossom Point Satellite Tracking Facility in Blossom Point, Welcome, MD. Our West Melbourne facility has secure high speed communication links and a secure area for systems development, test, maintenance, and enhancement.
